This month’s speaker will be Jeff Haas (father of Sophia ’26 and Sam ’29). He grew up in South Euclid, Ohio and is currently retired from careers in flat roll stainless steel and aluminum distribution and trucking and freight brokerage. In his former role as President and partner in Cleveland Metal Exchange, Jeff was involved in many different aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, business development, new products and innovation.
In January of 2023, Jeff and his partners sold CME, which served industries ranging from automotive to kitchen equipment, to Mill Steel, which is General Motors’ largest metal supplier. In May of 2024, they sold their trucking and brokerage company to IBP, one of the largest home insulation contractors in the nation.
Jeff has now turned one of his hobbies, real estate, into a full-time job. He and his wife, Nicole, have two children at Gilmour - Sophia ’26 and Sam ’29. He enjoys mentoring/consulting business owners and young professionals on a variety of business opportunities and issues.
Jeff will share the journey they took to evolve and transform their company into a national distributor of flat rolled specialty metals. His experience is applicable to many different businesses and industries.
