Br. Richard Keller Thanksgiving Food Drive

November is upon us, which means it is time for us to stand side by side as family and bring hope to others through the 31st annual Br. Richard Keller Thanksgiving Food Drive! Whether serving as a chef, ministering to the sick or cheering on the GA athletic teams, Br. Richard, who served at GA from 1977-2014, modeled our Mission by bringing hope to those in need in our own community and beyond. Gilmour’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, named in his honor, encourages each of us to do the same.

As we come together to create food baskets for 300 families, we need your help! How will you live our Mission to develop the competence to see and the courage to act in creating a more humane and just society?

  • FILL THE BASKETS!
Students, faculty and staff will be bringing in the non-perishable food items, but we need your help to purchase the turkeys, potatoes, milk, bread and the baskets themselves. Our goal to cover the cost of the perishable items is $10,500 ($35 per basket). Donate below

  • DELIVER BASKETS WEDNESDAY, NOV. 27
Thanksgiving Food Drive Delivery is a special opportunity for families and alumni to live our GA Mission. Drivers will be assigned a time between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. to arrive at Pender Circle. Student volunteers will load the baskets into cars. Students delivering food with their families will earn two (2) service hours.

  • DISTRIBUTE FOOD WEDNESDAY, NOV. 27
Students will load food into cars either at GA or at St. Patrick’s Hunger Center. Volunteers will be serving outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Sign up using the link sent to students by Mrs. Daly.

    • Gilmour volunteers (10 students) will serve from 8:15-9:45 a.m. at Gilmour Academy, earning 1.5 hours of service.
    • St. Patrick’s volunteers (18 students) will meet at GA at 8:15 a.m., be bused to St. Patrick’s to serve and will return to GA around 1 p.m., earning five (5) service hours.

  • Support Gilmour’s Mission-Driven Activities!
Any funds collected beyond the cost of the baskets will be used to fund GA Mission experiences which include the Sixth-Grade Fatima Center Feast, the Middle School Caritas Project, Freshman Food Bank experiences, Sophomore and Senior Service Day experiences, and Praxis Project programming.
