Gilmour Academy participates in a worldwide Holy Cross Mission which gives us the opportunity to engage with schools and cultures across the globe in educating the mind and heart. Our philosophy of global education is to prepare students to be citizens of the world with the skills needed for leadership in addressing the key challenges posed by globalization, service to our communities and to the world outside our borders.
The Gilmour Global Initiative (GGI) was established in 2009 with financial, resource and consulting support from the Zai family and joined with an additional donation and encouragement from the Lower School Parents Organization Executive Board in 2010.
With an emphasis on the formation of educators, students and families, GGI supports a world-class educational program that offers mastery of rigorous academic content with a unique global perspective; an intercultural understanding of diversity; exploration of world cultures, economics, languages and history and immersion in collaborative projects that connect our students around the world in authentic and meaningful interactions and experiences. It is part of our Holy Cross Mission to make ourselves at home among all different cultures of the world.
