The elementary years are a formative time as students begin to develop their academic self-concept and feelings of competence and confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision-making, communication and life skills, as well as values. It is also a time when students develop and acquire attitudes toward school, self, peers, social groups and family.

    • Evaluate students’ learning needs and strengths.
    • Individual Support – Personalized academic planning
    • Work with parents to help them understand their child’s progress in school and devise strategies for success and happiness.
    • Learning Enhancement Services
    • Intervention services may be initiated by parents and/or school team members who then remain in close contact to address any issues that may arise.
  • Leadership Programs

    Educating the Whole Child
    • Implementation of activities to help integrate the ideals of the Student Code, the Gilmour Outcomes and the Gilmour Mission.
  • Social Emotional Programs

    • Individual and Small Group Counseling – Guide students through planned, short-term and goal-focused counseling to work toward possible solutions
    • Classroom Guidance- Grade-level lessons to teach the knowledge, attitudes and skills students need to develop a foundation for future success
    • Transitions- Help new students acclimate to the Lower School
