Catholic Schools Week Celebrated on Campus January 27-31

Catholic Schools Week was a fantastic way to celebrate our Gilmour and Holy Cross identity with activities that recognized all members of the community, including faculty, staff, students, Holy Cross religious and alumni. Donuts, dress-downs, class Mass, thank yous and trivia were just a few of the highlights. The week culminated with a celebration of our students and the presentation of the Br. Robert Kelly Outstanding Service Award to Evie Limberg ‘25, who has recorded 570 service hours through a wide variety of experiences.

This week was a profound reminder of the importance and impact of our Holy Cross Mission, identity and values. When reflecting on their experiences at GA this week, students explained that Holy Cross has shaped their lives by:

Allowing:
"allowing me to develop holistically in terms of moral education, physical education, and theological education...and by giving me a community of people who will always help and support me" - junior

Providing:
"teachers who check up on students when hard times come around, ask questions, allow students to voice their opinions, and teach everyday knowing they're making our world better" - freshman
"an environment of "friendship, respect, gratitude and responsibility" - freshman

Inviting us to:
"think bigger picture" - sophomore
"be a part of something bigger than ourselves" - sophomore
"be a part of a family" - sophomore

Challenging us:
"be kind and to serve everyone, regardless of your perspective on them" - sophomore

"giving me the confidence to speak up when I see things that aren't right...and to make a positive impact on my community" - senior
