  • Who are we?

The Gilmour Academy Lower School Parents Organization is an active volunteer organization made up of dedicated parents who play a vital role in assisting the school in its mission, by promoting mutual understanding and support between families, students, faculty and administration. Since inception. the Parents Organization has sponsored programs and events and provided volunteer support and financial resources that benefit GA families, faculty, staff and the entire Gilmour community.

The Parents Organization is governed by a Board of six officers. These officers, along with school administrators, meet on a monthly basis. LSPO activities focus on three primary areas; Friend Raising (family support), Fund Raising (financial support) and school/classroom support. Read on to learn which area may be the best fit for you. Let us help you get involved!
  • How can you get involved?

LSPO hosts events that allow parents or grandparents to volunteer. Our first event of the year is the Trunk or Treat in October. We also host the mother/son bowling evening and a father/daughter event and help with field day on the last day of school.

Our fundraisers also need parents' involvement. The book fair and Santa Shop are our biggest fundraisers. Both are great opportunities to help.

LSPO also hosts the classroom socials at Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day and spring. We have two classroom coordinators for each grade who plan crafts and games for the afternoon.

If you are interested in being a classroom coordinator, contact Nicole Malanaphy, below.
