The Gilmour Academy Concert Series to Host First Fall Concert
Following the overwhelming response to our inaugural summer concert series “Tuesdays at Tudor,” we are pleased to announce that we will be continuing our guest musical artist series this fall. Open to the public, “The Gilmour Academy Concert Series,” featuring locally and internationally renowned artists, is generously sponsored by loyal Gilmour alumnus Matthew P. Figgie ’84, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation. Through our partnership with Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland, the Cleveland International Piano Competition and ArtsConnect, three scheduled performances will take place in the Exhibition Area of Gilmour Academy’s Lower School, located at 35001 Cedar Road, Gates Mills (entrance is off of Cedar Road), where the artists will perform on one of the school’s beautiful Steinway & Sons grand pianos.
The concerts are free and begin with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by the concert at 6:30 p.m. Reservations are required. Please RSVP to Jacqui Lundi at lundij@gilmour.org or (440) 473-8000 x1204.

In December 2016, three new Steinway pianos were delivered to Gilmour Academy’s Lower School, beginning the process of Gilmour becoming a Steinway Select K-12 School. This unique distinction means that every single piano on campus will soon be replaced with a new Steinway & Sons grand piano. Gilmour Academy is the FIRST private K – 12 school in the Midwest and is only the EIGHTH school in the ENTIRE COUNTRY that has made this commitment to date. In June of 2017, two more Steinways were delivered to campus: a Steinway grand piano for the Chapel, and a Steinway Spirio grand piano to Tudor House. The purchase of these beautiful instruments were all made possible through scheduled donations from Matthew P. Figgie ’84, Figgie Capital and The Figgie Foundation.
The Steinway Select K – 12 designation is exceedingly prestigious and is only bestowed upon qualifying institutions that consist of kindergarten through 12th grade. It is an extension of the All Steinway School honors that Steinway & Sons grants to the world’s best colleges, universities, conservatories and schools of music.
