Junior Selected For YAC

Congratulations to Luke Peterson '25, who was chosen to be a member of Representative Shontel Brown's Youth Advisory Council (YAC). This council was developed to give high school students an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about government, provide meaningful input and enhance their leadership skills. This will provide them the tools and the confidence needed to foster long-lasting change in their communities by affecting positive outcomes and impacting the lives of others.

As a YAC member, Luke will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and develop important career-building skills, such as public speaking, problem solving and teamwork.

Representative Brown wrote to Luke, "The Youth Advisory Council plays a vital role in representing the voices and perspectives of young individuals in our community. Your participation in this program will not only be an opportunity for personal growth and development but also a chance to actively contribute to addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by your fellow peers. We believe that your insights, enthusiasm and commitment will be valuable assets to the council's mission, and we are excited to have you on board."
