The varsity football team kept its win streak alive, improving to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the North Coast League (NCL) White Division with this past Saturday's 14-3 defeat of John F. Kennedy. CJ Charleston '19 led the offense with 19 carries for 140 yards. He ran for one touchdown and threw for another. His pass to Nathan Reichard '20 (pictured) was the first score of the day. On defense, Jack Kosar '19 totaled 16 tackles and two sacks, while Michael Cerer '19 had 10 tackles and three sacks. Charleston contributed 12 tackles, and Armand DiPuccio '19 and Marco Costabile '20 had seven tackles each. Other game highlights included Max Mendels '19 kicking two extra points, Jimmy McCrone '21 with a clutch onside kick recovery and Jack Krebs '19 with a 35-yard punt return.
 
Gilmour has two regular season games remaining as it looks to earn a spot in the playoffs. Currently the Lancers rank No. 4 in Region 17 with the top eight teams earning a right to continue playing in the postseason. 
 
Weekend Plans: The Lancers travel to Euclid High School on Saturday to take on Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in purchasing discounted tickets should stop into the Athletic Department before 4 p.m. on Friday. Presale tickets will be sold for $5, which is a $2 savings from adult tickets sold at the gate.
