    Networking Breakfast

    Tudor House
This month's speaker is Larry Weber ’73. Larry and his four younger siblings all graduated from Gilmour and he was named Alumni Man of the Year in 2014. His mother taught in the Middle School for more than a decade and his father, Vern Weber, was a legendary coach, teacher and mentor at Gilmour for more than 40 years.

Larry is a successful entrepreneur, thought leader, author and founder of several global marketing companies, including Racepoint Global, where he serves as chairman and CEO.

With offices in major innovation centers across the United States, Racepoint is an award-winning independent communications agency specializing in driving conversations that matter. Larry’s notable career in PR began when he founded The Weber Group, which grew to become the largest technology PR firm, and ThunderHouse, one of the first interactive marketing firms. After both were acquired by Interpublic in 1996, Larry built the world’s largest PR firm, Weber Shandwick Worldwide.

Over the course of his career, Larry has counseled many leading brands including Verizon Wireless, SAP, Microsoft, IBM, General Motors, Intel, CES, Deere & Company, and Panasonic. He also co-founded the Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) and currently sits on the board of directors of Pegasystems and the ClubHouse Network.

Larry's talk will address his acquaintance with Paul Farmer, Partners in Health and his familiarity with Tracy Kidder, who authored the book Mountains Beyond Mountains, a profile of Dr. Farmer's efforts to cure infectious diseases and to bring the lifesaving tools of modern medicine to those who need them most. In addition, he will discuss his passion for how technology has transformed marketing, business and our world, and the ways businesses can live GA’s schoolwide theme of Option for the Poor in their daily operations. He will discuss how every company in every industry must embrace today’s technology to make a meaningful, positive impact on society and humanity.

Larry and his wife, Dawn, are the proud parents of three children (Hannah, Julia and Geoff) and grandparents of their beautiful granddaughter, Finnegan.

    Lil' Sibs Day

For current families, with younger children in Grades 6 or 7 (at Gilmour or another school), this is an opportunity for these little sibs to spend time here on our Upper School campus with their older sibling and get a sneak peek at the school.

The day will start at 11 a.m. The sibs will join their older brother or sister for Community Block, lunch, a few of their classes and a pep rally featuring our faculty vs. students basketball game. Again, this is designed only for the younger siblings of current Upper School Lancers.

Additionally, for those with a seventh grader interested in applying for Grade 9 for the 2024-2025 school year, we will be hosting our Get the Scoop! event on Tuesday, May 16.
